Forgiveness is mentioned multiple times in the Bible which shows the
significance of it. Why is it so hard for us to forgive others? Even forgive
ourselves? The word of God clearly shows how important it is to forgive
others as believers.
Colossians 3:13 says, “Bearing with one another and, if one has a
complaint against one another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has
forgiven you, so you must also forgive.”
God didn’t say forgive if you can bring yourself to. He said you MUST
forgive. If we don’t forgive others then we are walking away from the love of
God we are suppose to be sharing. Jesus died on the cross forgiving us of
everything that we did to him. We are suppose to show that same
We as Humans make mistakes all the time which means sometimes
hurting people. How can we ask for forgiveness from God if we can’t
forgive those who hurt us? It’s not possible. It is such a need to forgive
others so that we can be forgiven, show the love of God, and not have to
walk around with hurt or brokenness because we already forgave!
Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving
one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Always walk in forgiveness.
Although it can be very difficult sometimes, God will provide you with
peace, healing, and strength to be able to forgive others. Through
forgiveness you will live life with so much more joy and freedom!
