Hope Over Hopelessness

Hopelessness comes when you feel like you’ve fallen and there’s no way to

get back up on your feet. When your parents argue, when you didn’t make

the team, when your state goes on lockdown... or even when you feel

alone. When you feel alone, hopelessness comes whispering in your ear,

“You’re all alone...all hope is gone...go cry, but no one will be there to help

because you’re ALONE...just give up.” All those voices and distractions are

direct hits from the enemy. He rejoices when you feel hopeless. He loves it

when you fear. He dances over your suffering; he smiles when you feel

alone.

Wouldn’t you say it’s easy to wish upon a star or cross your fingers. Sure,

it’s a myth about hope. But have you seen hope in Christ? This real hope is

so much more than a fortune cookie or an eight ball. Hope means to have a

confidant expectation. In order to have hope, you must know God. We can

have hope because the Savior of the world died for us. Each nail in his

hand was for you, each stripe on his back was for your sin. That can give

us hope. But the best part is He rose again. He’s seated by God, and we

have His power on the inside of us if we are born again. Our spirit lacks

nothing. We have hope because of Christ’s actions.

Jeremiah 29:11 says,

“I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you HOPE and a future.”

BRUH...... that verse right there

gives us hope. God is saying he has good plans for us. He wants us to

have a hope filled future!

Psalm 27:5 says, “He will protect me when I am in danger. He will hide me

in his tent. He will take me up to his place of safety.” You guys.... these

verses get me hype. It’s a joy to know we are safe. God protects us. It

gives us hope! And almost every verse in the Bible gives us hope. The

Bible is living hope. So, when the news is trying to shake you up, the media

tries to push fear against you, know that you have hope. When

hopelessness comes, counter it with God’s scripture. Stop trying to be like

everyone around you and drown yourself in fear. Y’all, it’s time to rise up.

It’s time to take back our territory. It’s time to let hope rise. You have it

inside of you. It’s time to go against the trends and set our foundation on

the hope of our life. His name is Jesus.
