Walking in Health

Isaiah 53:5

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our

iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His

stripes we are healed.”

1 Peter 2:24

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having

died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were

healed.”

These 2 verses are so amazing because one is from the Old Testament

prophesying (for-telling) what Jesus was going to do and the other is from

the New Testament telling us what Jesus did for us. Both of them are

promises that we are healed by the stripes that Jesus took on His back for

us. Jesus is not going to go back to the cross again. That work is already

done. When Jesus said “It is finished” as he breathed His last breath He

completed the work of healing. All the healing that we would ever need

Jesus took upon himself.

The Bible lists in Deuteronomy 28 all the curses that would be poured out

on those who did not listen and obey the instructions of God (also called

the Law of God). Part of that curse was sickness and disease. The Bible

also tells us in Galatians 3:13 “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of

the law, having become a curse for us.” Literally, Jesus took our place and

put upon himself the curse that we were supposed to live under. Jesus

became the substitution for us so that we no longer live under the curse of

the Law from Deuteronomy 28. This includes all sickness and disease.

This is great news during this time of sickness and disease being so

rampant in our world. It also brings great peace because we can walk in

healing and pray for healing for others. We don’t have to fear COVID-19 or

any other disease because Jesus already took that upon himself so we

didn’t have to.

Today choose to trust in the finished work of Jesus and walk out healing in

your life.
