“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.”
When the word says we should present our requests to God with
thanksgiving that is not a request but a command from God to walk in
thankfulness. Even during a hard time in our lives we can find things for
which to be thankful. When we are stranded at home we can be thankful
that we have a home. When we cannot buy toilet paper we can be thankful
that we have in-door plumbing. When we are experiencing symptoms we
can be thankful that Jesus took stripes on his back for our healing. When
our children are stuck at home and out of school we can be thankful that
we have our children and that they are protected. There is always
something for which to thank the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
“in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Ever wonder what the will of God for our lives is? Start by being thankful.
This verse lays it out very clearly. It is God’s will for our lives to be thankful!
So today find the things for which to be thankful and start praising God for
